TP 755/760/765 - Hanging up the modem shows "MMTASK:Not responding" message in the Windows 95/98 tasklist

SYMPTOM:
When hanging up the modem in some applications, the machine stops responding. By doing a Cntrl-Alt-Del in Windows 95 or Windows 98 to show the Task List, the Windows module "MMTASK" is listed as "Not responding".
CONFIGURATION:
Thinkpad 755CE/CSE/CV/CD/CDV/CX, 760C/CD/E/ED/XD and 765D machines with Mwave running release 2.25 (Windows 95) or 2.25a (Windows 95 or Windows 98):
note: not all 755CX models have a Mwave modem installed.

SOLUTION:
Install the MwMMtask patch over Windows 95 machines running Mwave release 2.25 or 2.25a, or over Windows 98 machines running Mwave release 2.25a. To download the patch, click here.
